PERFORMANCE AND TECHNOLOGY UPGRADE WHEN BUYING BATTERIES

WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR.

Car tip for conventional starter batteries:

an upgrade of the Starting Bull or Power Bull battery to the even more powerful Power Bull PRO battery is possible with the H5/L2 (62 Ah), H6/L3 (72/74 Ah) and H8/L5 (95 Ah) casings.
Always in the same casing and similar performance class.

PS: Minor deviations in capacity or performance during a cold start have no effect on the safe start and the optimum power supply of the electrical system.
Please contact your Banner customer service representative for more about this.

Car tip for start-stop car batteries:

an upgrade of the Running Bull EFB battery or Running Bull EFB PRO battery for an even more powerful and vibration-resistant or cycle-resistant battery The Running Bull AGM battery is possible under certain circumstances in an H5/L2 (60 Ah), H6/L3 (70 Ah) and H7/L4 (80 Ah) housing.
Always in the same casing and similar performance class.

PS: Minor deviations in capacity or performance during a cold start have no effect on the safe start and the optimum power supply of the electrical system.
In this case, with some vehicle manufacturers, the new battery must be “trained”. The Banner Battery Service Tool (BBST) is ideal for this.

Car tip on battery performance, technology:

a battery upgrade is recommended for cars with higher energy requirements due to additional electrical equipment (e.g. auxiliary heating, sound system, alarm system, etc.) or generally for “kerbside parkers” – i.e. drivers without a garage space (keyword: higher cold start current).

Please note: When upgrading to a different battery technology (e.g. from EFB* to AGM**), the system for some start-stop vehicles with battery management system (BMS) must be “trained”.
The Banner Battery Service Tool (BBST) is ideal for this.

*EFB = Enhanced Flooded Battery, the cycle-resistant starter battery.
**AGM = Absorbent Glass Mat, the acid is absorbed into the glass fleece and thus bound.

Banner tip - upgrading start-stop car battery technology (EFB to AGM): directly next to the engine block (combustion engine), the more heat-insensitive EFB battery with fitted thermal protection cover is to be preferred if this was already installed ex-works as the original battery.

Commercial vehicle battery performance tip, technology:

a battery upgrade for commercial vehicles makes sense for high or maximum energy requirements in combination with maximum demands in terms of vibration and cycle stability.

This is because the on-board power supply in commercial vehicles has increasingly to meet more specific requirements:

  • highest energy demand due to increasing comfort functions in long-distance trucks. The driver spends the night in the vehicle and uses a large number of different electrical consumers (keyword „hotel function“)
  • Extreme vibration resistance with integral rear installation of the battery in the truck.

An upgrade of the Buffalo Bull battery to the even more powerful Buffalo Bull SHD PRO or Buffalo Bull EFB battery is possible in casings A, B and C and even recommended depending on the application (e.g. long-distance coach, long-distance truck).
