The life of a battery in generel depends on various factors, such as from the driving behaviour, performance of the vehicle - design of the alternator (generator), the frequency of use, from creeping and resting currents, maintenance and battery quality. Further depending on the usage profile - more short trips, stop-and-go, many trips in ECO driving mode (economy), ... often means insufficient charging of the battery. Also consider the number of engine starts, and do not underestimate the cyclical load caused by additional electrical consumers (air conditioning, sound system, seat or auxiliary heating, ...)!
These influencing factors can significantly shorten the life of a battery! As always, exceptions confirm the rule.
Tips for a longer battery life
To avoid starting problems or even premature total failure, the battery should be recharged at least in spring and autumn. It is best to always combine the external periodic recharging at least with the tyre change.
