Brand new and even more powerful - Energy Bull DUAL POWER

Energy Bull DUAL POWER

The Banner Group is pleased to announce that this summer its leisure and hobby batteries have undergone a market repositioning. Consequently, now and in the future, the new Energy Bull DUAL POWER types will be available for use as both starter and electrical power supply system batteries, thus opening up the prospect of additional, diverse application possibilities.

Leonding, 27 June 2023. The Energy Bull is one of the most durable and reliable products in Banner’s market range. Moreover, as Andreas Bawart, the Banner Group’s Commercial CEO, takes pleasure in reporting, DUAL POWER is our latest answer for outdoor enthusiasts and we have established a range of six popular types with capacities ranging from 60Ah to 230Ah. This enables us to offer portable energy for sailing, e- and motor boats, yachts, motor homes, caravans and the camping/caravan segment and therewith cover the needs of our target group in optimum fashion.” In addition, the battery label design has been adapted appropriately and the lid colour changed from blue to black owing to the use of recycled material.

A wide range of applications

Previously, the Energy Bull was used primarily in the marine sector. However, DUAL POWER design now offers diverse application possibilities in relation to starting up both motorboats and motor yachts. The new battery types are also suitable as energy suppliers for motorhomes, camping, or for energy storage for signalling systems, solar panels and wheelchair drives.

Get off to a flying start with “beefy” benefits

Cycle and vibration resistance, as well as easy charging are just three of the many features of the Banner leisure range. Thanks to the use of 4-chamber lids and safety screw connections, Energy Bull DUAL POWER batteries are leak-proof and safe to operate. The types in car sizes are completely maintenance-free and those in truck sizes are service-friendly. The transparent box contributes to straightforward electrolyte level control and the carbon additives in the plate material ensure simple charging. Moreover, solid cold-start performance means that the new Energy Bull batteries are suitable for most starter applications.

Tips for correct charging

In addition to proper maintenance, the correct charging of these leisure segment batteries is especially important. In particular, lengthy periods of inactivity lasting several weeks can have unpleasant consequences because unless the battery is charged immediately, application-related self-discharge and quiescent current may result in the formation of large lead sulphate crystals. These can either no longer be converted, or only reconverted with a higher charging voltage. As a result, the battery loses active mass and its performance is reduced. To prevent this happening, as part of its wide-ranging product programme, Banner offers state-of-the-art chargers and accessories. Convincing nature lovers with sustainability

Ever since its foundation, Banner has fed spent batteries into a systematic recycling loop. The company employs over 95 per cent recycled lead in its manufacturing process and valuable raw materials are returned to the production cycle. In fact, as Andreas Bawart explains, “Our recycling rate is actually 100 per cent, which is higher than that for aluminium cans, glass or waste paper! The battery boxes we produce are also made of 80 per cent recycled polypropylene and this means that with our lead-acid batteries we are the European recycling champions. In particular, this is appreciated by outdoor fans with a strong affinity to nature and amongst other groups, we wish to appeal to them with the new Energy Bull DUAL POWER series.”

In addition, Banner is continuing to work hard on the further optimisation of its ecological footprint. The enlargement of the photovoltaic plant in Leonding has already commenced and will subsequently generate an additional 1 MWp (= electrical output of solar cells). Furthermore, the office building in Leonding is to undergo renovation and in order to reduce its energy consumption to a minimum, the facade will be redesigned and the roof insulated. For as Andreas Bawart stresses with regard to the practical realisation of the Banner Group’s comprehensive sustainability strategy, "We see our investments as an important contribution to the energy transition and wish to continue to play an active role in shaping it.”

Conclusion

DUAL POWER design delivers numerous product improvements at the same price level. The new product types are available immediately from selected specialist dealers and workshops.
